Blog about Twitter
A twitter discussion is very different to a blackboard discussion and a in-class discussion. First, I think that a blackboard discussion is not as efficient. It's "real time" but you do not get notifications so no one is really checking back to blackboard to reply back to each other. In this situation, people usually respond to the original poster. For twitter, you get notifications when someone replies to your tweet or retweets it with their commentary. It is more efficient that blackboard discussion but still not as efficient as it could be. This is because people can not check or reply and multiple people can answer to the same tweet, therefore splitting the thread into different "discussions" in itself. The most efficient discussion would probably be in class because it is real time with real people. It is easy to manage. People won't talk over one another and if that does happen, it can be easily controlled.
